1. Introduction

FileShare Pro ("we", "us", "our") is a peer-to-peer file sharing application developed for Android. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how our app works.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

• Display Name & Profile Photo: Stored locally on your device only. Not uploaded anywhere.
• Vault PIN: Your PIN hash is stored locally on your device using SHA-256 + PBKDF2. We cannot recover your PIN.
• BP Checker Readings: Blood pressure readings entered in the BP Checker tool are stored locally on your device using SharedPreferences. We do not collect, transmit, or store this health data on any server.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Advertising Data (via Google AdMob): We use Google AdMob to display banner advertisements. AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP address, and ad interaction data as described in Google's Privacy Policy.
• Crash & Performance Data: Standard Android crash reporting may transmit anonymized crash data to help improve the app.

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do NOT collect your location data (used only at runtime for device discovery)
• We do NOT upload your contacts to any server
• We do NOT store your files on any cloud or server
• We do NOT track your browsing activity
• We do NOT collect or transmit your chat messages
• We do NOT collect or transmit any health data (BP readings are stored locally only)
• BP Checker: Does not connect to the internet or any medical databases. The information is only processed locally for simulation purposes.
• Meme Generator: Image processing, text overlaying, and saving of memes happen entirely on your device. The app requests gallery access solely to save your creations to your device. Memes are not uploaded or analyzed.

4. Third-Party Services

4.1 Google AdMob

We use Google AdMob to serve non-intrusive banner advertisements. AdMob may collect and use data as described in Google's Advertising Policies. You can opt out of personalized ads through your device's Google Settings.

4.2 STUN/TURN Servers

For long-distance file transfers, the app uses publicly available STUN servers (Google, Cloudflare) and TURN relay servers to establish peer-to-peer WebRTC connections. These servers facilitate the connection only — your files are transferred directly between devices and are not stored on these relay servers.

4.3 Google Gemini AI

We use the Google Generative AI SDK (Gemini) to provide smart chat reply suggestions and AI-generated file insights. When you use the AI chat features, the last received message or file metadata (such as name and size) is sent to Google's API for processing. We do not store these AI prompts or responses on our servers. For more details, please review Google's Privacy Policy.

4.4 MQTT Signaling Server

To establish the WhatsApp-like global chat and peer-to-peer WebRTC connections, we use a public MQTT broker (test.mosquitto.org) as a signaling server. This broker is used purely for exchanging initial connection handshakes (Offers and Answers). No chat messages, files, or personal identifying data are stored on this broker. Once the connection is established, all data flows directly peer-to-peer.

5. Ephemeral Stories

The app allows you to create and share 24-hour "Stories" using your camera and media storage. Story media files are saved securely in your device's temporary cache directory and are automatically deleted after 24 hours or when the app clears its cache. We do not upload your stories to any cloud server.

6. Utility Tools

FileShare Pro includes built-in utility tools that process data entirely on your device:

• Image to PDF Converter: Converts selected images into a PDF file. All processing happens locally on your device. Images and generated PDFs are not uploaded to any server.
• Image Resizer: Resizes and compresses images locally on your device. No images are transmitted externally.
• BP Checker: Allows you to manually enter blood pressure readings for informational analysis. Readings are stored locally using SharedPreferences. This tool is NOT a medical device and should not be used as a substitute for professional medical advice.
• PDF Maker: Creates PDF documents from text input. All text processing and PDF generation happens locally on your device.
• OCR Text Scanner: Uses Google's on-device ML Kit to recognize text from images locally. No images are sent to any remote API.
• Contact Backup: Reads your device contacts locally to generate an offline VCF export file. Contacts are never uploaded or synced to any cloud.
• Video Compressor & File Encryptor: Video compression and file encryption (AES-256) are performed using your device's local processing power. No media or files are transmitted during these operations.

7. WhatsApp Status Saver

The Status Saver feature accesses locally stored WhatsApp status files from your device's storage using Android's Storage Access Framework (SAF). Specifically:

• It reads files from the .Statuses folder on your device only.
• No WhatsApp data is uploaded, shared, or transmitted to any server.
• This feature only works with content already downloaded to your device by WhatsApp.

8. Data Security

• Vault Encryption: Files stored in the vault are encrypted using AES-256-CBC with PBKDF2 key derivation (100,000 iterations).
• Transfer Encryption: Optional PIN-based encryption for file transfers using the same AES-256 standard.
• Local Storage: All app data (settings, history, chat, tool outputs) is stored locally on your device using an encrypted SQLite database and SharedPreferences. We do not maintain any cloud databases.
• No Cloud Backup: We do not backup your data to any cloud service. Contact Backup exports only to a local VCF file.

9. Data Retention & Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

• Uninstalling the app removes all app data except vault files stored in public Documents storage (these persist for your security).
• You can manually clear all app data from Settings → Clear All Local Data.
• You can clear the vault from Settings → Clear Vault.
• BP history can be cleared from within the BP Checker tool.

10. Children's Privacy

FileShare Pro is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. User Generated Content (UGC) Policy

FileShare Pro allows peer-to-peer sharing of text, images, and files (User Generated Content). To ensure a safe environment, we strictly enforce a zero-tolerance policy against objectionable content. By using our application, you agree NOT to share, send, or display:

• Content that is abusive, harassing, threatening, or promotes violence/hate speech.
• Sexually explicit, pornographic, or highly suggestive content.
• Content that violates intellectual property rights or is illegal in your jurisdiction.

Enforcement & Moderation: Because FileShare Pro operates entirely on a decentralized, peer-to-peer network without any central servers, we cannot actively monitor, host, or delete content shared between peers. However, we provide in-app tools for your safety. You can Block any user or peer device directly from the chat screen to prevent them from sending you messages or files. If you encounter illegal content, please report it to your local law enforcement authorities.
